8th Grade Dance
The Physical Education Department is requesting our wonderful parent volunteers to assist with the Scoliosis Screening scheduled for FRIDAY, December 11TH. Please consider taking some time out of your busy schedule to assist in this very important screening. Did you know that 2 children out of every 100 may have scoliosis? But, if the condition is detected early and appropriately treated, progressive spine deformity can be prevented. Across the state, all 6th and 8th grade public school children need to be screened, so here at ECMS, we need your help to screen our 800 students. The procedure is a very simple test that the PE teacher or volunteer can do by looking at the child's back in the standing position while bending forward. All volunteers will need to attend a 30 minute training session at ECMS. Training will take place the morning of the screenings at 8:15 am before school starts. The more volunteers we have, the quicker the process will go. Please don't hesitate to sign up! Email Jamie Young to arrange training if it's other than the morning session. Don't Delay! There are different two shifts that are available. Please sign up HERE. Please contact Carol Murray if you have any questions. Comments are closed.
